This Green Bay Packers themed painting was a commissioned piece for a publisher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1997. They wanted a Christmas scene with Santa, including a fireplace and a few children and I was given full range to include any other Green Bay Packer paraphernalia I wanted. It was a challenge to incorporate all this into a scene from my mind’s eye. The only reference were pieces of art I had already created, which is the Reggie White and Brett Favre drawings on the wall, a photo of Vince Lombardi and a print titled “The Sweep”, which hangs above the fireplace. I clipped many photos or took my own to use as reference and created the rest of the painting. This is a limited edition print on fine art paper.

About Canvas

I use 1 ½” stretcher bars with the image wrapped around the sides so you can hang without a frame. If you would like to frame your canvas art, please let me know in the contact information and I will stretch on ¾” bars. Same price. All canvas art is ready to hang.

The Canvas we use is a 22 MIL, 400 GSM Poly-Cotton solvent canvas and is archival certified, OBA-Free. Urth (Can you add a trademark symbol after this? Couldn’t find it.) is the world’s first solvent canvas with archival certification. It is specifically designed for the high-end fine art market and utilizes “Chromata White” optical brightener additive-free and Fluorescent Whitening agent-free breakthrough technology. “Chromata White” gives the most stable platform on which to print fine art works without the metamerism issues or color shifts issues inherent on other canvases. Optical Brighteners compromise the attainment of true color, they complicate profiling accuracy, and they inevitably deteriorate and yellow over time. Ever noticed how a print can look identical under one light source, yet show remarkable differences in color when viewed under a different light source? This problem is “metamerism’. When OBA’s are used in inkjet media, the metamerism exacerbates exponentially. Because this product is manufactured OBA-free, you are assured that your print will look consistent under different lighting conditions.
